Populating Spreadsheet from CRM Contact
I would like to populate a spreadsheet ( Excel) with fields from Dynamics CRM 4. Ideally I would like an extra button, which when pressed when the contact is displayed that it extracts fields such as Name, Address, Email etc. Ideally I would also like to generate a sequential number and record that in the CRM + a link to the spreadsheet...
At this stage, I'm just after a top level of the best method and tools to do this, and then we can go research the nitty gritty.
The reason ?, we have a fairly complex quote spreadsheet, and doing quotes from within CRM is too longwinded, howerver if can at least use the CRM to populate the contact fields, and record in the CRM the fact that a quote has been generated, that would be a good start.

I think you should look at VSTO ( visual studio tool for office to start with ) you can use directly sql queries in excel if you are not using IFd.

Hi,
Thanks for the response. We have managed to get Excel to pull info in from CRM, including doing a lookup, but ideally I was looking get CRM to push the data out, when we have the contact open on the screen.
