cannot connect new client to SBS 2008 server with launcher.exe

I'm having a problem joining a client to an existing SBS 2008 standard domain. Although I can connect to the server using e.g. \\SERVER\Public\Downloads, I get an error message when I start launcher.exe on the client from a usb device. Error: cannot download application Connect Computer, try again. What is the exact name of that application that launcher is looking for and where should it be located? Also http://connect doesn't work (cannot find page error)

Client is Windows 7.

( There's a file called 'CRM 4 rollup 5' located there but when I go to c:\Users\Public\Downloads on the server itself there are the folder called 'Certificate Distribution Package' and tha zip-file called 'Install Certificate Package' located, so apparently these are different locations...I thought... then I went up one level on the client in the Explorer to folder  \\SERVER\Public, then clicking on \downloads again from there and then it shows the actual content of c:\Users\Public\Downloads on the server ...? )

I guess the issue is that I cannot disable DHCP on the router, which causes several issues. I added the client manually now (the simple way) and that works (good enough).

Thanks.
