Good Morning,

Recently I had a 500Gb drive die on me. I had been lax with my backup routine so I still need to recover around 50-100Gb of the data.

Now the drive spins up, there is no obvious physical damage.

It is detected by the BIOS correctly however it is not detected by windows. I have tried booting to an Ubuntu environment, that does not detect the drive. I have also tried Knoppix and BartPE and neither of them can see the drive.

I have no idea where to go from here. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Cheers
