I bought a new machine which cam pre installed with Windows 7. My old machine was working in XP with no problems. I managed to move all my data to the new machine with no problems mentioned. My problem is i am not sure when i will need my old machine to retrieve a possible configuration or to run an application which failed to run in Windows 7. My idea was to backup the  old windows XP machine to ISO in a removable drive and then to boot in the new machine using the VMware.

Any one can help to provide a solution to boot XP to ISO?

There is no such thing really but you could try Bart PE.

What you could do, is convert your existing machine to VMWare, install Windows 7, install VMWare Server 1.09 and now you should be able to boot to your Windows XP OS.
