Windows 7 Upgrade from 7 Eval

So i was all excited a couple months ago and loaded the eval copy of 7 on my PC. (Build 7100). it has been running great. I now have the official licensed upgrade that I would need if I was on vista and planning to upgrade to 7.
Has anyone looked into how to do this without wiping out my pc and starting over? Will the upgrade CD recognize that I am on 7 and just "Validate" the copy of 7 I have to be ready to go?
Any ideas would be great. Thanks!

Build 7100, if I remember correctly, is the "Beta" version.  How to upgrade from the Beta version to the final version (RTM = Release to Manufacturing) is treated on this page:

http://windowsitpro.com/article/articleid/101865/upgrade-of-windows-7-beta-to-rc-and-rtm-to-require-some-mucking-about.html
Build 7000 was the Beta and has been expired for quite some time.  There is no way a person could be running that as they wouldnt even be able to boot to it.  Build 7100 is the RC build.  I would also strongly suggest a reinstall.  Upgrades are tricky and trying to force a upgrade when it isnt supported properly will only cause you trouble and grief in the long run.

Thanks for the feedback. Looks like I will be installing clean so i don't run into any junk down the road.
I doubt very much that it should be considered illegal.  Would Ed Bott, one of the most experienced and well-known Windows experts in the world, a Microsoft MVP, recommend something illegal?
