Conditional formatting for calendar occurrences in Outlook 2007

I have an event series in my Outlook 2007 calendar. I want to color code individual occurrences of the event. I tried using conditional formatting but that only seems to register for the entire series and not the individual occurrence. I could have sworn this was possible in previous versions of Outlook. Is there a way to color code individual occurrences of a calendar series in Outlook 2007?

Hi, Russ_Suter.

How would the condition know which occurrences to color?  They'd have to be different in some fashion from the rest of the series.

You can open a single occurrence and modify the text. I could add a keyword to either the subject or the notes and I expected the conditional formatting to recognize this but it doesn't seem to.

Doesn't appear to be possible.  I tested using Outlook 2003 and it doesn't work there either.  The formatting only applies to the value that is set on the series.  How about using categories?
