I am wanting to upgrade my xp pro laptop to win7. I have created a 2nd partition on the laptop in which to store the migrated data and also an acronis backup image. I have install the easy transfer wizard on the second partiiton and run it but it will only detect shared items and not the admin profile. I have run this direct from the win7 dvd and usb drive with the same result.
I have no issue previously when changing fm win7 RC to win7 pro.
I also tried using the File and transfer wizard in XP but unable to migrate the data back into win7.
For some reason even though all the documentation online says to use the Easy transfer wizard to detect/select the profiles etc to save for migration, it only asks to select shared items. I can used the advanced option and select the profile individually, but haven't tested to see if it will resinstate it and settings once win7 is installed. (due to the time it takes)
