Cisco 800 - VLAN1 line status down

Last night one of our office VLANs went down.
I can telnet to the external int and have noticed the line protocol is down.
Vlan1 is up, line protocol is down

Yes, 192.168.30.1.
The int is plugged into a switch in the office.

I could actually ping 192.168.30.1 last night about once every 30 or 40 tries.

Wha would cause the line protocol to go down??

It looks as though the interface between the switch and router has gone down.

please can you post

show vlan
It looks like all ports which are in VLAN 1 are down, so this causes interface VLAN 1, to show line protocol down.

Maybe the switch that is connected to the router has been disconnected or powered off.

Is there someone onsite that can check for you?

If the switch (a cheap 24port linksys)has failed, would this cause the line protocol to go down?
Also, show vlan gives me ambigous command.

Is there anyway I can run some tests to ensure the router is fine?
(If I head up there and the router ha a problem... I would need to pick up a spare)

You could ask someone to plug a PC into one of the ports in vlan 1 and see if the VLAN interface comes up.
