SoniWall SSL-VPN 200 password error

A user sometimes gets password error when login in to our SonicWall SSL-VPN 200 device. Today, he got the password error a couple of times, but he was later able to log in, without making any changes to his password. This has happened a number of times. He uses Netextender and windows XP.

Where does the password happen?  Do you have a radius server?

The password verification is done through Active Directory on a windows server 2003 machine.

Does he encounter the same error when trying to log in through SonicWALL Virtual Office?

Unfortunately, none of my users user Virtual Office.

I saw login errors in the security logs for that user, for the particular times that he had problems login in. The errors don't say much.
