Have a Windows XP SP2 computer  that was part of a domain, now making it a home computer.  Trying to install Microsoft Update to get the latest updates but get the above error message.  I have changed the Internet Explorer setting to enable Userdata Persistance as suggested by Microsoft.  I have also changed the registry to eliminate entries that disable Windows Update as suggested by another post from Google search.  Neither of these have solved the issue which I am fairly sure relate to the fact that this computer was part of a Domain.  So how do I get rid of all the domain entries in Policies, Services, Users, etc?
