I've bought a CO3U multi-pattern usb condenser microphone to use with my IBM T43 Thinkpad laptop. I assume I've successfully installed it although Windows/SoundMax is not displaying it in any drop down menu.
The CO3U mic is a plug and play device and the reviews have confirmed this.
Windows XP did initially sent a 'balloon' recognising the Samson CO3 USB audio device and I presume it automatically installed the universal drivers as the manual said it would. The 'Driver Detective' software investigated my machine, recognises my CO3U mic and tells me that the CO3U drivers are up to date.
How am I to set my usb mic as the default device?
If this can be achieved would I need to use some kind of recording software to make sound come from the usb mic rather than the inbuilt mic?
