Possible only via iTunes. No other tool will take good image of your iPhone memory.

Im looking for an exact image of the hard drive, not like backing up and restoring files.
Thanks.
But how do you plan to get to hard drive of the iPhone? Keep in mind that it will have the file system not supported by most of imaging tools.
Thats what i was thinking, and probably there is one somewhere.. Or someone knows how..

the iPhone doesn't even have a hard drive.  It stores all information in NAND memory and RAM.
And do you know if NAND memory can be imaged?, i works just like a hard drive right?
Maybe you could explain the purpose of the image you want to create; that might help people figure out what might help.
Its much faster instead of restoring and reconfiguring and installing everything manually, and just for general knowledge.
When you use the "Backup" feature in iTunes, it saves an image of your iPhone's memory to a file on your hard drive, which you can then restore.  When you restore, you don't have to reconfigure or install anything.
This should work the same for ipod touch right?, i have fixed a couple of them and some times it forces you to restore with the firmware instead of the restore with itunes, its not the same as only restore as an image what im looking for.
If i make a backup with itunes a new brand new iphone then jailbrake and unlock it, then restore with itunes shouldnt leave any traces of any file on the iphone when i restore it with itunes. Im not sure but i think it doesnt work as an exact image, and when itunes with the restore option takes it back but not just exactly to when you first connect it, without a firmware restore.
Thanks for the info guys.
