I'm learning C# and in one of the books I'm reading, the author uses += in some switch code but never explains what += is and what it does. Here's an example of the code he uses:

case '>' :
          target.Text += ">";
          break;

So what is "+=" ? I'm thinking it has something to do with replacement, but I'm not sure and as I said, the author never explains it.

Thanks!
