Backup software for Windows 2008 server R2

Hi All Experts,

I am wondering what backup software is currently out on the market that will backup Windows 2008 R2 Server. Symantec Backup Exec 12.5 has only support for the agents and will not allow the media to be installed on the server.

The server we have is also a DC ( Bad Design ) with Windows 2008 R2 server and requires a backup solution that also supports tape libraries. I can't find anything out there , and wondering what other administrators are using for their network.

Many vendors are yet to release their backup solutions for 2008 R2 server.
you can check beta version of Microsoft Data protection manager v3 "zinger"
http://www.microsoft.com/systemcenter/dataprotectionmanager/en/us/2010beta-overview.aspx
you can also try RTM release of HP Data protector [ yet not released to support 2008 R2 ]
Though these products current versions do not support 2008 R2 as of now officialy but that does not mean that they will not work [of course with some reduced functionality]

why dont you go for Ntbackup of win 2008. which got some extra power now. You can even save few bucks.

I am looking for a solution now as I am desperate to have something in place. I already have the windows backup on windows 2008 running , but I need to back up my other VMware servers , exchange 2007 brick level.

DPM looks good , but its still in beta.

It does not help either that the server is a DC as well.

unfortunately samithsukumar , the CA solution requires SQL Express 2005 to be installed. This is not supported on a DC. I have exhausted all efforts and have no interest in beta software ( sorry Gaurav-Anand ).

Surely there must be something out there ?
My other option which I dont want is to get another server and install Windows 2008 server.
