how to forward mail to an external email address from Exchange 2003

Hi experts I have setup external addresses in the past somewhere in exchange. I created the users in exchange not full users just basically contacts and I cant remember where to do this please hep. I want to forward a copy of mail to a blackberry. I do not want to create a full fledged account in AD.

You might want to refer to my article here at EE which covers how to do this in greater detail: https://www.experts-exchange.com/articles/Software/Server_Software/Email_Servers/Exchange/Forward-Email-to-External-Email-Address-Exchange-2003.html.

You need to create a 'Contact' object in Active Directory, which has an SMTP address of the external mailbox you want the mail to be forwarded to. You then set the contact as the forwarding destination on the Delivery Options tab of the user's standard user account for whom mail is being forwarded.

the above link I posted does not require a user with mailbox to be configured.

The answer I am looking for is the one where I create the contact in exchange
You create the contact in Active Directory Users and Computers (it cannot be done in Exchange)
I could be wrong. But I did not create a full user where the heck do you create a contact just to email to?
on the server I created the original contacts there is a card looking icon beside the user when I look them up in exchange forwarding
