SMB Windows 2003 Server responding time out

On a Win2003 R2 Server with MSA20 SCSI storage attached. That storage has a raid 6 configuration and is assiegned as drive f:.
This drive contains shared folders for profile, folder redirection and file share.  

client (ca. 25 users) runing XP SP2/3 and Terminal Server 2003 have a mapped drive to several mapped folders on that drive F:.
2-3 times a day the server stops responding for about 1-2 Minutes on smb requestes.
network usage is low

any solutions finding the cause of the problem
