had you configure the IP or the printer?
This all depends on how you have your network configured. First steps I would do would be
Run ipconfig from a connected computer. This will tell you the subnet scheme 192.168.xxx.xxx or some other address.
From the hp printer print a configuration page. On the page it should have the ip address that was set for the printer. You may need to manually set the ip address, subnet mask, and default gateway.
The port name will be automatically created once you add the ip address. If the ip address is 192.168.xxx.xxx the port name will be IP_192.168.xxx.xxx

how to configure the ip
how to configure the printere
how to configure the printere
Which printer? - the process varies between models - some have the software built in, others rely on drivers installed on your PC to configure them.
The problem here is you arent giving us any information we need to help you. 1 and 2 line responses wont help us when we cant see what your doing or know what the network you are working on is like.
if this printer is already working on another PC, open the printers folder, right click on the printer, and select"properties" under the "ports" tab, you can see the printer port, which will include the IP address
