Presentation server 4.0 to XenApp5 in 2003 upgrade
Hello there,
WE have a farm of 15 servers running in Presentation Server 4.0, we are planning to upgrade the farm to XenApp 5.0 in 2003 (which i know is Xenapp 4.5 with Service Release 1). My question is, we have Secure Gateway 3.0 in our current set-up, DO WE NEED TO UPGRADE IT TO 3.1 OR IS IT OPTIONAL? Please adviise
I know the defnite prerequisite is License Server Ver 11.5 and new DataStore. But I was not sure of Secure Gateway?

Carl is correct. CSG and Web Interface upgrades are not mandatory at this point but honestly, I would recommend doing as if you have issues later, the first thing Citrix support will ask is to upgrade all to the latest and greatest.

I see no reason to not upgrade to CSG 3.1.2 and at least Web Interface 4.6. You already have the SSL cert for your current CSG. There is not that much different between CSG 3.0 and CSG 3.1.2 (biggest being support for IPv6) and WI 4.0/4.2 and WI 4.6. I would say both are easy upgrades and almost a no brainer decision.

Thanks heaps Carl. MAle sense not to upgrade CSG, as it will be while for us to emabrace IPv6. I will go ahead with the rest and upgrade to XenApp 5.0. I have two questions:
1.Order of upgrade: Is the following order correct?
1. License Server PNAgent Server 2. DataSource 3. Data Xollectors 4. Metrix Servers 5. Member servers.

Citrix have released ver 11.2 CitrixOnlinePlugin, i find that Program Neighbourhood is not supported. I have downloaded the client, and need to deploy as a customised package, as the download is in exe format and when extracted I get 6 msi files, which oone should i use to customise> Any ides

Data Collector, Database Connection Server (if exists), Primary Farm Metric Server (if exists), Backup Farm Metric Server (if exists), and then member servers.
The readme file will tell you any prereqs like upgrade license server 1st then install C++ package and then any Java updates. Follow the readme for the prereqs and then the above server order.

Brilliant, thanks again Carl. I am trying to find document in Citrix which states CSG 3.0 sis supported in XenApp 5.0 I am not able to find it. Do you have a link for this?

License Server is now 11.6.1 and that is required for the latest Hotfix Rollup Pack.
