how to connect to other organisation in the same ip-range
Hi,
We are a school with a public ip-adress aa.bbb.ccc.14 and subnetmask 255.255.255.192. We have some external people coming in who have an exchangeserver at their organisation. The problem is that their public ip is aa.bbb.ccc.30 (where aa.bbb.ccc are the same as in our ip-address)
When the external people try to connect to aa.bbb.ccc.30/exchange through our router on aa.bbb.ccc.14 they get the message "page cannot be displayed.
What needs to be configured in our C1841 router so that .30 is correctly routed ?
Thank you very much for answerring

Hi,
we've contacted our isp and they said our ip and subnet combination are correct. We only have to add an extra route in the router and it should be ok.And yes, we only have one IP-address.
So that leaves the question: how do I route aa.bbb.ccc.30\exchange to the outside world ?

255.255.255.255 worked. Thank you
a subnetwork mask divides up ranges of IPs. The one you use is 255.255.255.192 (also called a /26 bit submask).
This would means that if you are using the ip aaa.bbb.ccc.14 then you also own :
aaa.bbb.ccc.1 - aaa.bbb.ccc.62
So another group can not be on .30 as that is inside your range.
You need to check with the ISP (Internet company) you use to get this IP what the subnet mask should be.
I'm guessing it should be a lot lower. How many IP addresses do you have ? If it is just one then the mask should be 255.255.255.255
or maybe 255.255.255.252 (this is sometimes used for routing)
