iSeries Support for Windows Network Neighborhood: accessing iSeries IFS with Kerberos in use
We have user profiles that are in sync with AD and the iSeries.  Users get auto logged in to the iSeries applications based on there windows user id.  We have reports that are located on iseries IFS network location.  When users that dont have full secofr rights browse to the location to see the reports, they get prompted to log in.  If they log in with there iSeries password they can get to the location.  But isnt there away to have the Kerberos connection validate the user so they dont have to log in?  Users generally dont know their iSeries passwrod b/c they dont have to for any other application, this causes a bunch of calls to support.

If this is true, then it's likely that much of the work has already been done. It _might_ only be necessary to set the appropriate authentication method on the Security tab of the NetServer Properties and end/restart NetServer.

The problem could be as simple as how the cl program was compiled.  It may need to be compiled on the as/400 as *user as opposed to *owner.

Good luck...

I think I have to call IBM to go through the support process but this gives me more info to look at.

We're talking about NetServer: an OS facility that provides CIFS-compliant access to the AS/400 IFS from a client PC, not a user program.
