Server 2008 R2 Windows update appears to be broken error Code 80072EFE"

Hello guys,

I would ppreciate any advice you can provide with regards to the following.  I have performed a fresh default installation of Server 2008 R2.  And setup a brand new domain, standard group policys, standard setting for Internet Options.  I am currently unable to perform a windows update I recieved the following...

"An error occurred while checking for new updates for your computer.

Error(s) found:
Code 80072EFE"

My initial thoughts were that this might be caused by MacAfee however I cant see any evidence of that in the logs.  Are there any windows update logs I can check that might give me a clue?

Btw i have tried disabling McAfee and even the windows firewall (which I doubt would cause this isue)
This may be a DNS issue, please ensure that your DNS is configured correctly and try again.
If your issue is with your updates failing on your DC, please ensure that the primary DNS IP is set to 127.0.0.1.

Its was that little rascal MaCafee, litterally had to un-install it before it would work again.

And Access protection does not always seem to switch off btw
Code 80072EFE on a Vista PC ended up being a rootkit removed by Kaspersky's rootkit utility and remover.  Here is my article I wrote up on it
