No it doesnt matter.
its 2003. I tried to open with both versions same error.
They are all updated.

In your updates, does this also include that you have the compatibility pack installed?

Which PP version was the file you are trying to open created in? Was it 2003 (and therefore a /.ppt or 2007 as a .pptx ?)

Or if you simply click on the file name?
Which version was the file created in? 2003 or 2007? And have you updated both 2003 and 2007 with the most recent updates?
