This is an IP for one of my customers:  71.131.176.7.  Does anyone know how to find out the default DNS servers this IP would most likely be issued?
If not, whats the easiest way from a local PC connected to a router to find their ISP's DNS servers (the public ones in the router, rather than the private router IP given to the local PC).  Can this be done without logging into the router?

THe PC is windows based

no.. looking externally at your client, you cannot tell what DNS Settings they are using..

the only way of telling which DNS servers they use is to run an 'ipconfig /all' from a cmd prompt on their machine (assuming windows) which will tell you which DNS servers they are using to resolve from.

if they are using an internal DNS Server, then you'll need to go to that machine to work out what its DNS forwarders are (if any) or its DNS Server settings to see where its getting its lookups from etc etc..

Sorry, but there's no simple method to find this information remotely..

Very good information cusamis..

Fortunately in this instance the ISP is listing their DNS Servers, normally they wouldnt.. and I had no idea that

AT&T Internet Services SBCIS-SIS80 (NET-71-128-0-0-1)
                                  71.128.0.0 - 71.159.255.255
PPPoX Pool - rback14.sntc01 SBCIS-111705080545 (NET-71-131-176-0-1)
                                  71.131.176.0 - 71.131.191.255

= SBC / pacbell services..

local knowledge is a great thing..
