asked on

HTTP Error 400: Bad Request, Connection refused

I have installed on a server BES version is 4.0.4.6.
Problem is, only for two users as far as I know, that when they access http ://mobile.xing.com they receive this error:

HTTP Error 400: Bad Request

Details: Connection refused mobile.xing.com:443

Both users have BB8900 models.

Can you please help with this issue or provide guiding to what I should check/investigate.
If more details are needed, please ask and I'll try and provide.

Thanks !

Hi,
There is something I think isn't really clear. You are trying to access a webpage on your blackberry or to receive emails?
Surfing the net has nothing to do with your BES. The only problem you can have is if on the BES you have provided an IT Policy blocking the users from surfing (check your IT Policy).
Make sure they use the blackberry browser and that they have a data plan

The error message appears when the page loads http://mobile.xing.com

"HTTP Error 400: Bad Request

The server could not understand the page request, or they could not process any other reason. Load a different page.

Details: Connection refused mobile.xing.com: 443"

The original message is in german and what is above it's a translation.

What should I check or what information should I ask the user to provide ?

Thanks.
Hi,
Port 443 is for ssl connection ! must be https not http. That's what might be your problem. It works on my bb though.
Check on your BES the it policy to see if there is any restriction.
User tries to access http://mobile.xing.com and he's forwarded to https://mobile.xing.com/xing and this is when he gets the error message.
Have you got any resctrictions on your BES's IT Policy?
No restriction as far I can check.
However I have new information regarding this problem.

No https sites can be accessed, except the company's OWA.
Also no https site could ever be accessed, at least that what the user said.
Could this be a firewall issue ?
Hi,
Yes that could if you have configured the blackberry firewall
and how do I do that ?
Have you upgraded your BES to the latest service pack? Or even to version 4.1.6 if not 5
On the unit you can configure the BB firewall (never used it though) : go to options then security options then firewall
