Have you removed the existing / aborted 10g install using the Oracle Installer, and visually checking the directories and services?  May I suggest you try a fresh copy of the release from oracle.com, and/or post anything your install log has captured so far -- if anything.
Yes I have removed 10g oracle but now when iam trying to install it's giving error universal installer not opening even though I downloaded oracle 10g from oracle site
why is universal installer for oracle 10.2.0.1 not starting and giving error while oracle 9.2.0.1 and oracle 11g  universal installer starting and working fine on windows xp

Tickler for http:#25781129, any issues seen with the services?
hi yes the problem is resolved i placed oracle 10.2.0.1 download on c:/ and now its working fine but i would like to ask one question even though i have oracle 9i and oracle 11g and oracle 10g downloads were kept in same folder and oracle 9i and oracle 11g were install but this oracle 10g was giving error,so can you guys tell me why
According to an Oracle doc for a similar issue, "Spaces in path for both stage area and oracle home are not supported due to Java constraints."
But my question is why it was working fine for 9i and oracle 11g and why it's giving error for oracle 10g
If memory serves there was a problem with one of the installers.  Don't run setup.exe from the root directory.  I forget the exact directory and I'm not where I can get it but there is another setup.exe a few directories down under an install folder.  I'm thinking there is a win32 folder in there somewhere.

Run that one and see if it works.
it is still getting the same error i tried running setup.exe from the oracle 10g download
Just to clairify, you ran the setup.exe from the install directory not from the root 10g filder?
>>hi yes the problem is resolved

>>it is still getting the same error

So which is it?
slightwv is right.

The workaround is to run setup.exe which is in the install directory.

What do you mean by install directory setup.exe and root 10g folder.I have tried starting oui in what ever directories setup.exe is present but still got the same error every time
When you unzip the installation files (assuming you downloaded the oracle software), you'll see Disk1 folder. Under here you'll see setup.exe. DO NOT run this file. Instead, go into the install sub-folder and run the oui.exe

R.
I'm hoping rolutola is correct in the paths and executable name.  I'm not at work and don't have access to my source folders so I can't provide a 100% accurate answer but...

I think its either win32\install or install\win32.  You'll see a .exe file there.  I was thinking it was setup.exe bot rolutola may be correct with oui.exe.  Whichecer it is, run that one.

The only other thing I can think of is the folder with 10g is not a trusted folder which is why it installed whenyou copied it to the C drive.

It's still giving error and oui is not starting
I'm out of ideas.  I'm not sure what else we can do to solve this problem.  I suggest you open an SR with Oracle support.  They should be able to solve this issue for you.
