We have Microsoft Exchange with Edge Roll installed in our IT environment.  Edge server not joined to the domain. So, how we can protect the system state of this server by Data protection Manager 2007?

What is the point?
If the machine dies, simply rebuild it fresh and create a new subscription. There is nothing unique on the Edge server that requires protection. If you make any custom settings on the machine, just document them.

Correct. I wouldn't. I see no point.

OK, I have also another problem with DPM that is. We have 2 GP servers with windows server 2003 installed. We upgraded it to Windows Server 2008 R2 after upgrading system state backup failed for these tow servers. I already installed Windows Server Backup Features. These machines connected to DPM server normally. There is an error on event viewer on these machines tells that (the backup storage location not invalid. You cannot use a volume that is included in the backup as a storage location), so, what I have to do to for this issue?

That question is unrelated to your original question.
I suggest that you close this one and create a new one so that other experts have an opportunity to answer.
