No int 13 drives to support
Hi There,

I have a HP Proliant ML 310. I have just purchased 2 x 72 gb SAS HDD. I booted into Smart Start and I get the error 'no configurable drives found'. The I spoke to HP and they gave me some raid drivers for windows 2008 server, however when I try to run the set-up process it says that my drivers are not supported for the hardware.

When I try to boot into the array configuration it tells me there are 'no drives detected'. I get 3 messages when the system is booting:

no logical drives found
No int 13 drives to support
No bios installed

I have basically run our of options and I'm appealing to anyone who can help with this issue as I would really like to get this machine humming along.

Can someone give me some details as to what I need to do in order for the server to recognize the drives and let me install the OS?

I'm wanting to run Windows 2008 sever with raid 0 or 1 ( not sure which I need for 2 drives)

You don't say what generation ML310, need the Gx number from front. Assuming it is a G5 you need a cable if it was originally supplied as a SATA model, HP SAS Cable ML310 G5 460310-B21. If you take the side panel off do you see a cable going from the controller (in a PCIe slot) to the backplane?

Hi There,

The machine is a G5. There is a red cable with the numbers 1,2,3,4 going from the motherboard to the hard drive cradle.

Is this what you're refering to ?

hi There,

I will ring HP and see if I can get the SAS cable for the drives I bought. I want the speed of the SAS drives.

SAS cable *and* controller. If you can afford it 411064-B21 is better than e200 I listed above.

How much are we talking?

I have £430 in the HP UK price book for the P400/512 BBWC, and £242 for the e200, 405528-B21 also would do that's only got 64MB cache and no battery but lack of write cache not too much of a problem with RAID 1.

I just spoke to HP today. They said $900 AUD ouch.

Thanks for your help, without it I would still be scratching around for answers.
