Doing A Wireless Assessment on my own
I am doing an enterprise wireless deployment project. Due to the economy, my budget has been slashed by 90%, which means I'll be doing more of this with my team and less with contractors.
Fortunately, I already have a bit of the hardware including 14 Cisco 1231 APs and 15 Cisco 1142 APs (to cover 300,000 sq.ft.). The WLAN will serve voice and data.
How do I do a wireless assessment? What equipment should I be purchasing to do an assessment? What specs should I look for? I understand the Cisco Wireless Controllers will do a heat map. Can I just rely on that?
