DHCP SERVER and Router CONFIGURATION question

I never let the server do the DHCP routing. I always let the router do the routing. So i I purchase a sonicwall, the configuration should go something like this....

WAN > Router > Switch > and the server / workstations into switch.

DHCP turned off on the router and turned on the server.

Right?

If so I how do I still take advantage of the firewall on the sonicwall router? Will it still serve its purpose?
