SX to SX connections between different brand switches

Last Modified: 2013-11-09
We currently have the following brand network switches in our environment:
* Cisco
* Netgear
* D-Link

From experience, does anyone know if standard SX to SX fiber/fibre backbone connections work okay between different manufacturers?

 I have heard numerous suggestions that they do or don't.
Our core switches are all Cisco but we do have some D-Link or Netgear ends and would like to use straight fibre to them rather than backbone across from other ends via Ethernet/Copper to have the shortest uninterrupted distance as possible.
