How to delete a history link in chrome

I guess Untill now the chrome version we have does not support the single link delete from the history. It might be included in any future version.

I know its annoying but i think its not possible :(

If you dont want the link to be displayed in the history you can use incognito window mode for browsing (ctrl+shift+N)

I just tried it using version 4.0.222.12.

It works fine.

'm using Chrome 3.0.195.32 and 'm not able to delete
OS: Win XP

when i type the url, it is not displaying the desired link to be deleted or how do i know it is the correct link to be deleted, suppose i have the same link in more than one day, also i think it is easier to click on a days history and delete or atleast choose that link and delete.

Also, is there a way to delete from the history link
chrome://history/

if you upgrade to version 4.0.222.12 you should be able to do this, it must be a new feature.

also you are quite right... in the chrome history it shows the "page title", if you hover on it, you'll see the actuall url in the status bar.

I've just tried something which works..

if you hover over the link you want to delete, right click and "copy link address"

Then, paste that into your address bar and hit the SHIFT + DEL then... it will delete that actually link.

May be that way works in version 4.0.222.12 but still i dont think thats the way to clear history since if i want to remove more links from past it will be tedious & frustrating job. It is actually a good additional feature which i agree but not for removing each link in history

oops, unfortunately i could not download & test with the latest version, blocked :-(

thanks for that, i believe its even blocked, also the installer will inturn connect thru proxy, so should be blocked...

I've just updated to the lastest beta and that version is only 4.0.223.16

I've tried what i suggested in my 3rd comment (from the top down), and it works fine.

It actually works a tiny bit better on the beta as you can just select from the autocomplete up and downs and press Shift delete on each related links...

Can you tell me where you got that 4.0.249.0 version from?

i tried with 4.0.201.1

i'm able to delete the list with globe icon, but not the clock icon (means history).

i tested this several times, but could not delete it.

thought i can consider this solution as alternative, but why is not working to me.... :-(

am i trying something different

Glad you got this to work. I never noticed the globe icon, but yes that it a bug.
