I cannot boot my pc to windows till i pull out and place the ram back in. Anyone would think RAM is the problem, but have replaced with NEW SIMM and still it's the same behavior.

After BIOS screen, cursor blinks and windows won't boot. I take out the ram and place it back, machine boots and perform fine till next shut down.

I am using intel DG965RY board.

BIOS have been upgraded/degraded several time but the problem was not solved. Right now it's running the latest BIOS.

Just curious is there anyone out here who has faced the same issue? Would be in peace of mind before replacing the board then.

Looks like a shed of light. Thanks,

Ok, I have only the CPU  connected to the 500VA APC UPS.

APC is connected to raw power.

The power outlet is newly built and properly grounded.

What can be the source of statics? (i am not a hardware guy)

Motherboard refitting would do any help??

I found a photo on an Intel DG965RY and it's not close enough to tell -for sure-, but it looks like it has KZG all over it.

the motherboard bios was the issue, send it back to intel. Although bios was updated to the latest version, still it was not functioning properly.

In that case I would suspect the BIOS was fine and the POWER to the BIOS had noise, most likely from bad caps.
