Outlook 2007 emails vary between desktop and laptop

My Manager has a desktop and laptop, in an exchange 2007 environment. His desktop runs in online mode, and his laptop runs in cached mode. As of late the messages on his laptop are not matching what his desktop outlook is displaying. He normally takes his laptop home and will have it connected to exchange but random messages will not show on his laptop. This has been working for quite sometime, but now for some reason it seems to be intermittent..

The question is how can i make sure his outlook on both computers have the same messages?

Anyone have any suggestions?

It's possible his OST file (offline cache) has gotten corrupt.  I would turn off cached mode, make sure the .OST file gets deleted (c:\documents and settings\local settings\application data\microsoft\outlook\outlook.ost)

Then turn cached mode back on and see where you stand.

We had this problem...and the solution was to turn off the cache mode.

what about being able to read email offline? if i set his outlook to online mode he will have to be connected to the server to review his email correct?
