System Volume information Not there, XP pro service pack 2

Can't find the System Volume Information directory even after I unchecked Hide protected system files.  Any ideas?

akahan,  Yes I think the part where System Restore was turned off on the system is true on the PC we are working on.  I was thinking that may have been the case.  With that said is there a way to do a repair or a restore of those files?  Blue screen of death.   I don't know the error message as I don't have that PC right now.  All I know that after the user ran ad-aware and spybot and deleted the thousands of spyware he rebooted and got the blue screen.

Most self-respecting malware programs disable or damage System Restore, so that once they've got control of your system, System Restore won't help you anyway.

If the files have merely been deleted, you could try getting them back with something like Recuva or any number of similar file-undeletion programs...but I suspect strongly that this won't ultimately help you revert your machine to its pre-infected state.
