HI,
My problem is, I want to modify a column datatype in Firebird table. I am using the following script.
ALTER TABLE MyTable  ALTER COLUMN MyColumn TYPE TMyBLOBTEXT;
But I am getting the following error:
SQL Error:  unsuccessful metadata update can't format message 8:207 -- message file C:\Program Files\ABC\ABC\firebird.msg not found. Error Code: -607. can't format message 13:393 -- message file C:\Program Files\ABC\ABC\firebird.msg not found The SQL: ALTER ALTER TABLE MyTable  ALTER COLUMN MyColumn TYPE TMyBLOBTEX;

The Older datatype was Varchar

Please Help me to resolve this.

well for starters you can't ask for TMyBLOBText - that's something that Delphi understands, not a firebird server.
try just "BLOB"

Thanks rfwoolf,
I added TMyBLOBText  as a domain.
CREATE DOMAIN TMyBLOBText AS
  BLOB SUB_TYPE TEXT SEGMENT SIZE 512;
