Google Earth - can you move multiple placemarks in My Places to new folder at same time?

I am learning Google Earth.  I have multiple placemarks and polygons stored in Google Earth's My Places.  I want to organize them into various folders.  Is it possible to select multiple placemarks or polygons to drag to a new folder simultaneously?  I've tried holding down control and that clearly doesn't work.  Dragging one at a time is quite time-consuming.

I have tried to copy and paste.  But the problem remains the same.  I can't select more than one object at a time.  I can go through and check off the box for several objects which displays them on google earth, but when I try to drag or copy and paste, only the last selected object moves or it copied.

It may not be possible to move more than one object at a time into folders, but it seems pretty standard to be able to do so.
