Inserting images with text into sidebars and content areas

I have started to recreate our site in drupal but am finding the insertion of images very confusing.

What is the best way to insert an image with a title above and text below into a content area such as a sidebar? The image should be linked to a node and authorised users should be able to change the image. the link, and the text easily.

Also, the main content area of the homepage with have about six "regions" in it, each with an image left justified with text to the right of it, wrapping around the bottom of the image. Users should also be able to edit the images and the text easily. Again, the images should be linked to nodes and ideally, at the end of the text there should be a "more...." link which should also be editable easily.

Thanks, Gary.
I have already seen the "Theming the Sidebar" page. This seems to describe adding a background image to a sidebar. The other link describes inserting an image in a menu item.  Neither of these describes what I want to do.
I want to insert an image with text into a sidebar. I can do this by defining a custom block in a sidebar and then, with IMCE installed I get, in the site bulding/blocks page, a block body textarea with two links below it ("insert image" or "link"). If I click on "insert image" you can insert the html coding into the block but the process is unfriendly for inexperienced users as it is not really easy to use, particularly if you want to change the image and you know nothing about html.
Is there ANY way of providing a similar interface with a block but which shows the content in "display" form and not "code" form (as in Dreamweaver) where the user can see what the block will look like. I am sure it must be possible with all the modules available for Drupal to do this.
Can you suggest anything else?
