Nagios - email not working for critical messages

Hi All -

             I have been trying to send the email for the crtical notifications. It's not working. I have made changes to the file contacts.cfg and I have entered my email id there. I had the same thing on an other server. It is sending me the notifications. Can you guess or what else could be the reason that I am not receiving the email notifications
