Lost BOOK1
somehow I lost BOOK1 the only things I have are "PERSONAL" and "PERSONAL(AUTOSAVE)"

before when excel 2007 started BOOK1 came up with SHEETs1-3, now just blank at startup
Open a new blank workbook, set it up as you wish, then save it as a template called Book.xltx in your XLSTART directory.

Click the Office button, click Save As, change the file type dropdown to Excel Template (.xltx) and the name to Book (not Book1), then change the path to:
C:\program files\microsoft office\office12\XLSTART
C:\program files\microsoft office\office12\XLSTART

the drop down list is icons and titles, is XLSTART a folder? the only thing in office12 is a folder called 1033
I'm not sure what you mean about the icons and titles? (note: I am not talking about the dropdown to the right of the Save As button)
XLSTART is a folder - I may have the path wrong but you can search for it.
