Quickbooks Pro 2008 locks up when I click on printer setup and I cannot print any reports (it locks up)
Since I started using Vista 64 bit a few months ago, I have been having printer lock up problems. I cannot go to printer setup without the program locking up. When I reconcile a credit card, it also locks up. It has something to do with my Quickbooks PDF COnverter Printer.

Great help. QUickbooks support could not solve the problem.
Close QuickBooks, open the Printers Folder, select the QB PDF Converter, right click to get Properties and select the Ports Tab.
Add a local port and call it PDF One. In the Advanced Tab, select spool print documents plus select immediately. Deselect print directly. Uncheck all the next selections inluding Enable Advanced.
Restart the Computer and test.

If you have one of these PDF One devices, you may need to delete it first and restart. It also gets tricky if you have more than one version of QB (which I do) because there may be a QuickBoooks PDF Converter and a QuickBooks PDF Converte 2.
