Quickbooks Premium Whlse-Inventory

How do I enter beginning inventory amounts into my QB Premium Wholesale/Mfg software.

When you set up new items, you can add qty on hand and cost. QB will automatically calculate the value for you, but you can enter it if you want to.

If you've already created the items you can, delete and recreate, do item receipts for qty or do inventory adjustments.

So, if I have already entered the items, I can delete that item and then recreate it and add in the beginning inventory.  There is no other way.  My problem is that I have raw materials to enter and I have assembled items.  When I add the raw inventory items and then receive the assembled items, it pulls from the inventory.  I need to enter both assembled and raw items.  Is there another way?

Can I enter my beginning balances in Quickbooks Premium, Inventory/Manufacturing in the Adjust Quantity/Value on Hand window?
