Installing Exchange 2007 into an SBS2003 domain

We've just installed a Server 2008 box and installed Exchange 2007 into an SBS2003 domain (the SBS2003 box is the only other server) and are about to move the mailboxes and public folders however i've just read in the MSEXCHANGE team blog that you need to make the Server2008 box a DC as it won't read the AD correctly from SBS2003. As we have already installed Exchange to the new box we obviously do not want to try and make it a DC but will this be fine as it is  or will this cause problems ?

I wear a lot of hats - Developer, Database Administrator, Help Desk, etc., so I know a lot of things but not a lot about one thing. Experts Exchange gives me answers from people who do know a lot about one thing, in a easy to use platform." -Todd S.
