CRW32.exe error message when trying to open a Crystal Report

Hello Experts,
I am attempting to open a report that was created in version XI.  When I try to open the report, I get the following error message:
"crw32.exe has encountered a problem and needs to close.  We are sorry for the inconvenience."
I did not create this report and of course I can't even open it to see what's going on with it...any suggestions please?  Thanks.

Do you have another machine you can try to open it on?

You said the report was built in XI, but what version do you have installed? Is it lower? higher? the same?

I'm actually the one who is trying to open it for someone it's been tried on different machines and we have the same versions of Crystal.

Hi J - so it was built in XI and you are trying to open it in XI? Just want to make sure the machines and the report are all the same.

    Author Comment

Hi...yes...from what I can tell everything is the same.

It might be a long shot, but have you confirmed all hotfixes / service packs are installed on your machine?

    They are available from SAP:

    Assisted Solution

Can you upload the report here so others can try?

Generally thi is an indication of
    1.  Bad Crystal install thus the attempt to open on other machines
    2.  A bad report file.  Probably need another copy.

These comments are helpful and I will use the suggestions, but since the author of the report that is experiencing the problem decided to re-create the report, I do not need any additional help with this issue at this time.  Thanks for your help!
