Apache/Tomcat 5.5.16 Out of Memory Error

I'm running Apache/Tomcat 5.5.16 web server right out of the box - no special configurations.

I upload one of my apps repeatedly .That is , I deploy/undeploy frequently.  I'm getting the following error after maybe 50 times of doing that.

java.lang.OutOfMemoryError:PermGen space when I try to use the JSP/JSTL application that I frequently deploy/undeploy.

Any ideas?  Is this a web application, web server, or server machine problem?

This is what I did find:

-XX:MaxPermSize=256m -XX:+CMSClassUnloadingEnabled

probably you are doing hard deployment and there could be some memory leaks in your application. Debug your application and see if all network or I/O or databse related objects are properly released.

Increase jvm memory settings using -Xms and -Xmx parameters for java command inserver start up script if required.
