I upgrade a database from sql2000 to sql2005 by doing backup and restore.
After doing that I notice that all the system tables was missing plus 1 user table.
What is the cause.

    Accepted Solution

some of the system tables are changed in 2005, also system tables are for the use of the sql server you dont have to worry about it unless you are querying some system tables, also there is an option to hide the system objects
system tables are shown under the system objects folder
the back restore process wont alter any user tables
can you run this in your databases

    SELECT  * from information_schema.tables where table_name = 'putYourTableNameHere'

That is right, things changed between 2000 and 2005, so you may not see the same schema that you are used to in the system table side of things after the upgrade to 2005.

    When I issue this command:
    SELECT  * from information_schema.tables where table_name = 'putYourTableNameHere'
what should I look for or receive.
