server 2008 ftp user always going to server default location
Hi,
i am having some diffeculty with our MS 2008 FTP server.
In short:
for every user i have made a virtual dir to their respective My Documents folder (the server is running ts). normaly when a user logs in via ftp they are directed to that folder. some users however get directed to the ftp-server default folder
the things i have tried to solve this problem:
- checked permissions on folder (is the user my docs so that should not be the prob)
- checked user groups (has the same as users where the ftp does work)
- when in the ftp management console, select the virtual dir and choose browse, filled in the user credentials and was directed to the appropriate folder.
- set the FTP server default to the users my documents folder. started a ftp session and wat directed to the folder an was able to make/change folders and docs (so i have modify rights)
I have no idea why this is happening. somehow the user is not being mapped to a virtual directory when i know i have given him the right permissions. any suggestions are very welcome.

hello farazhkhan:
You are my hero today
I cannot believe how simple the solution was. i had absolutely no idea that the virtual dir name had to be the same as the user name.
I knew there had to be a link somewhere! thanks!
