compile vb net console

i have a vb net console programe i have written and want to know how i can compile it so i can run it from a machine that doesnt have .net 3.5 installed, is this possible?

Ive created the set up appand copied it across but it wont let me install as .net 3.5 isnt on the machine

    Yep, .NET Applications always need the .NET Framework to be installed on the target machine.

    I think some 3th party tools exist that can modify your exe to be able to run without the .NET Framework, but I never used any of them, so I cannot give you advice about that.

    Why is that so important?  The .NET Framework is not that bad.
    And you can create an installer that downloads and installs the .NET Framework if necessary, or if you distribute your app on a CD, you can add it to that CD so the download is not required.

    its an IT red tape issue otherwise i would just install. c++ will be good learning for me though
