Multiple faxes fail on Microsoft Fax server SBS 2003

I have a client who until about 2 months ago could fax to multiple recipients, either by entering the fax numbers or selecting from and address or distribution list. all of a sudden thats's stopped. single faxes will send but multiple ones just never hit the fax queue, and dissapear.

i suspect an automatic update, trolled through the forums, i've tried removing and re-ininstalling the fax services element of sbs 2003, i've tried changing the modem from the internal conextant to an external USR Faxmodem. nothing seems to do the job.

Any ideas? - Thanks for looking
