Manage meeting room resources on 2 separate exchange systems

Systems:

1 x Windows Server 2003 x64 running Exchange Server 2007 Std (Version 8.1 - build 240.6)

1 x Window Server 2003 running Exchange Server 2003 Std  (SP2)

Servers are in separate domains, but a forest level transitive two way trust exists. They are on the same subnet of a network with no firewalls between them.

Problem:

Two separate organizations have recently moved into the same building. They are sister companies, with open trust between the two. There is a requirement for some members of both companies to have mailboxes on the 2 exchange servers and more importantly, they need to be able to setup meeting room mailboxes to automatically schedule meeting room requests.

I do not know how to setup such a relationship, and would be grateful of any guidance.

Can you create a Room Mailbox Test1 in domain1 and Test2 on domain2 ..... now go to the properties of Test2 that is on Exchange 2007 in EMC properties .... -> Mailflowsettings tab -> Delivery Options -> Select Forwardto, now browse Test1 from the other domain and also check the box ....Deliver mails to both mailbox and forwarding address ...

Rancy,

Thank you - but that is not going to bring the both servers up to date on the exisiting free/busy informaiton. This will only work on the data as you update going forward.

As mentioned - this is the most important element of this question - the meeting room free/busy.

Any other ideas?

So you want a user to have mailbox in Exchange ORG1 and ORG2 .... or if you could explain the situation in a more Layman language

Get free NFR key for Veeam Availability Suite 9.5

Veeam is happy to provide a free NFR license (1 year, 2 sockets) to all certified IT Pros. The license allows for the non-production use of Veeam Availability Suite v9.5 in your home lab, without any feature limitations. It works for both VMware and Hyper-V environments

Rancy,

Sorry for the confusion. If we forget about the users, and concentrate on the meeting room resources.

Think of it like this. 2 separate companies, sharing 1 office. They have a number of meeting rooms, which they both use. They need to be able to use the meeting room booking ability of exchange 2003 and 2007 to manage these meeting rooms automatically.

I believe that I need to either have the resource mailboxes on 1 server, or have permission to access over the two domains (separate forests).

Does this help clarify my problem?

Many thanks

You can use GAL sync for GAL sync between both the Exchange forests and InterORG for Schedule Free+Busy sync ..
