Communicator desktop sharing - optimise for performance?

Is it possible to configure settings for Communicator desktop sharing that adjusts for better performance over slow links??
Some remote assistance applications removes the wallpaper before running the remote session

    Yes you can configure a policy to restrict the color depth for remote desktop for a pool or a user, also you can restrict no. of viewers, all of that using meeting policy and desktop sharing policy
